As we reflect on the lives of the Coptic martyrs, we are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul, who writes in Hebrews 12:1, 'Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.' The Coptic martyrs are part of this great cloud of witnesses, their faithfulness and sacrifice an inspiration to us all.

As Saint Paul writes in Romans 8:36-37, 'As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.' The Coptic martyrs are a testament to the power of this love, and a reminder that even in death, we are more than conquerors through Christ.
